I will never be able to pick a single favorite book, for instance, I love The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny which is actually ten books, so yeah, I like involved things. I will list some favorite authors because that might be easier and the series I particularly like in some cases. Seanan McGuire/Mira Grant (Toby Daye series/Newsflesh series), Lee Child (Jack Reacher), Simon R. Green (Nightside, Hawk&Fisher), Charles Stross (Laundry Files), Ben Arronovitch (Rivers of London), J.N.Chaney (Backyard Starship), Steve Higgs (Blue Moon Investigations), Faith Hunter (Jane Yellowrock), David Eddings, Barbara Hambly, Katherine Kurtz, Ed Bryant, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Colette, Amy Lowell. This is by no means a comprehensive list because who wants to read three pages of all the books I love? I’d rather read the books. Ha! Movies and TV are mostly filled with more Sci-Fi, fantasy, and a LOT of Cop Shows and True Crime. Along with the standard Law & Order, NCIS, and CSI franchises, I also enjoy Shetland, Death in Paradise, Hamish Macbeth, Wallander, Ripper Street, Whitechapel, Penny Dreadful, Bones, Blind Spot, Jack Taylor, Rizzoli&Isles, the Man from UNCLE, Cold Justice, Dateline, whatever is showing on my true crime channel when I am awake. Ballykissangel, Kingdom, Jeeves&Wooster, Supernatural, Witcher, Stranger Things, Shadow&Bone, Picard, Discovery, Strange New Worlds, Mandalorian, The Expanse (and the books were stellar as well), odd-numbered Indiana Jones movies (no, I haven’t seen the new one but plan to), John Wick, musicals usually (Grease2 and 1776, for example, I can sing all the songs and recite the lines), Practical Magic (and pretty much anything Sandra Bullock is in), Under the Tuscan Sun, Chocolat, the entire Resident Evil series of movies, Lady and the Tramp, Mary Poppins, Eyes of Laura Mars, Color of Night, My Fair Lady, and pretty much all the Deathwish and Dirty Harry movies. It’s a wide range of weirdness up in my favs list. Again, not at all comprehensive a list. My musical tastes are about as eclectic as all my other loves, everything from the Swing era and the Rat Pack to 60s pop and rock and roll, I love Englebert Humperdinck and Bing Crosby as much as I love Rick Astley and Right Said Fred, ABBA, ELO, Dusty Springfield, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, Bob Dylan, Gary Allan, The Statler Brothers, Clint Black, LP, Nathalie Archangel, Tom Jones, Elvis, Nanci Griffith, Eliza Gilkyson, the list really is endless. Music is always necessary. I love to bake and am happy to swap recipes or share my favs. I was born and raised in Wyoming, so my food tends to be of the omnivorous comfort sort, lots of real butter, and to hell with the calorie count. I also curse a lot, so be aware that hell and damn will show up sometimes. I like iced coffee, sweet tea, and vodka. I smoke, cuss, and sing off-key with the radio in the car. Sarcasm is my mother tongue. I like to make Artist Trading Cards and other papercrafts, if it involves glue and paper, I am happy. I have a cat, and she is spoiled. Divorced, no kids, two roommates (married to each other) who also have cats. MrRoommate and I are disabled, so we go see doctors more than is fun, and MrsRoommate works from home, so the house is always full. I type my letters because arthritis makes my handwriting illegible after about three lines, so yeah, my laptop is what I will be writing on. I will write to anyone anywhere of whatever age and gender they tell me they are. Why should you write to me, I dunno, I am sometimes funny, not as clever as I’d like, but smart enough for a few years of college (no degree: I can’t math), and I am open-minded. Liberal, Bi, Disabled, and Pagan, so I hit all the shades of the rainbow. I’m old and a bit curmudgeonly but kind and always happy to make new friends in letters and online. My theory on conversation is never to discuss religion or politics because nobody can agree but sex and food are good because we can always find somewhere to agree on those. You can ask me anything, I’m pretty hard to offend (that is NOT a challenge, haha). As mentioned before, I like papercrafts; I also write fanfic (L&O:SVU, Man from UNCLE TV series), bad poetry, the occasional original story, I used to journal way more than I do now, and letters, obviously. I collect postmarked stamps and pretty paper things to glue to other paper things. I like dragons and mermaids and unicorns and butterflies and anything Art Nouveau or New Orleans-related, like Mardi Gras things and Fleur de Lis. Places I have been to and would love to go back to Muir Woods in California, Stinson Beach in California, Stuttgart in Germany, and New Orleans in Louisiana. Places I have never been to but would love to visit: Pretty much the rest of the world. I would love to hear about where you live and get postcards from your travels; even if you think where you live is boring, it is not for someone who has never been. If you want to read about Wyoming or Colorado (or New Orleans because I have been there a bunch), I can tell you all the fun things I have done and seen. My favorite holidays are Halloween and Christmas (yes, I celebrate ALL the Winter holidays, I grew up Episcopalian), and my favorite season is Autumn (my birthday is in September, and I celebrate All Month Long). I can’t promise long letters, but I will answer if written to, it may take me a minute, but I will do it.
