Travel The Snail Mail Way

When traveling, I try to discover places connected with snail mail. Oftentimes, they’re post offices. However, there are rare places like “The Old Post Office Cafe” in Lake Tahoe, California. The whole place made me giggle to heaven. It used to be an actual post office. I guess, it closed down somehow, and the new owners turned it into a cafe. They used the original post office decorations. It became the whole theme of the cafe.

The cafe used old mailboxes as the block for their bar area. It looked so adorable. If only I can build a house with post office decorations… HaHaHa!

Of course, the venue is not the only thing that can be connected to snail mail. There are a whole bunch of stuff, like stickers, postcards, brochures, etc.

When I visit a place, my automatic response upon arrival is to ask, “Where’s the postcard store?” HaHa! Do you do that? I always search online where the nearest gift shops, souvenir stores, or tourist specialty stores are located. There were numerous postcards and brochures that I have acquired. They will be sent to different states and countries. I can’t wait to write. Keep on writing!

This is so cool. And now I know where to visit in Tahoe!
I also like to check those convenience stores in towns… sometimes they have postcards which is weird.

What a wonderful find! Thank you for sharing your adventure. My best friend lives in Reno and I will be asking to road trip to Tahoe next time I’m there (which we have done before) just to visit this adorable cafe.
